🥳 First, housekeeping: We’ve crossed the 1000 subscriber mark. Thank you. 🙏🏾
Ever feel like you’re doing all the things — funnels, offers, tech — and still not landing enough clients?
That’s usually a GTM problem.
Most founders skip the one step that makes everything else click: Positioning.
🚫 GTM isn’t about launching with noise — ✅ It’s about launching with signal.
You only need 5 things to launch with traction. Get these right, and everything else (funnels, ads, playbooks) becomes easier, because the market starts pulling you.
1. Personality
→ What are you naturally great at — and where’s your friction?
Your GTM strategy should align with your strengths and energy, rather than copying someone else’s playbook.
Ask:
- What do I do well, without forcing it?
- When do I feel most ‘on’ in my day?
- What drains me — and how do I protect against that?
🧠 You don’t need to launch like a robot. You need to launch like the energized version of you.
✅ Launching in alignment is how you stay consistent — and sane.
2. Pain Point
→ What job are you being hired to do?
Borrow this from Clayton Christensen:
“People don’t buy products. They hire them to do a job.”
Great offers solve 3 jobs:
- Functional (What it does)
- Emotional (How it feels)
- Social (What it signals)
If you’re not clear on the job you’re solving, you’ll overcomplicate everything else — pricing, messaging, delivery.
3. Persona
→ Who are you for — and are they profitable?
This is where 90% of GTM problems begin.
Your ICP should also be your IPC — Ideal Profitable Customer.
Here’s the checklist:
✅ They can pay (on time and well)
✅ Their need is urgent
✅ The market is growing
✅ They see you as credible
🧠 Most marketing problems are actually targeting problems in disguise.
4. Product (or Service)
→ What exactly are they buying — and how risky does it feel?
Buyers say yes when the value is high and the perceived risk is low.
Clarify four things:
- What’s the clear outcome?
- How long will it take?
- How much effort does it require from them?
- What’s your risk reversal or guarantee?
If they don’t get it, they won’t buy it — no matter how good it is.
✅ Clear wins beat clever offers.
5. Product–Market Fit
→ Is your offer resonating consistently?
This is the stage most founders flinch at.
They wait for confidence before shipping. But confidence only comes after feedback.
Don’t guess. Test. One idea, one feature, or one transformation at a time.
💡 Advanced Tip: Run 3 types of Retention Roundtables:
These help fast-track your feedback loop — and enable you to reach PMF faster, without building the wrong thing.
🧠 PMF doesn’t come from shouting louder. It comes from listening smarter.
TL;DR — You Don’t Need Funnels. You Need Fit.
Most GTM efforts fail not because the product is wrong, but because the positioning was never clear.
Start with these 5:
- Your Personality
- Their True Pain Point
- The Right Persona
- A Clear Product
- Consistent Product–Market Fit
So start there — and you’ll earn back time, real momentum, and growth that feels like alignment, not a grind.
